Which Cryptocurrencies to Invest In

in #cryptocurrency8 years ago (edited)

Today is an exciting time. There is a vast amount of different cryptocurrencies to invest your money into. With the hidden inflation tax, this is becoming more relevant than ever. I just want to ask, which cryptocurrency do you guys see a future in and expect to grow? Would it be smart to invest in Bitcoin still? Do we expect another peak in the future like the one in 2013? Or is it expected to remain stable (or even go down in value)?

Let me know your thoughts and which cryptocurrency you think might be the next Bitcoin.

Rather than money, I invest my art, words and time. I earn Steem. I'm rooting for Steem. Not only for myself, but for everyone else here doing the same.

How is BitCoin different than Steem?

What can you do with bitcoin that you can't explain with steemit?!

I'm not sure what you are asking. Could you rephrase that?

It is just a different type of cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is generally more accepted than other cryptocurrencies. It is kind of the standard. Also, one Bitcoin holds a lot more value than one SBD or STEEM.

To me Steemit is the future of applications and bitcoin:D//

There is fundamentally no difference?
Why does BitCoin hold more value? Is there a structural reason or just psychological? Is it because BitCoin was first and has better name recognition? Better PR?

There is a difference, one is Bitcoin, and one is SBD. It's like comparing the U.S. Dollar and the Peso. The Dollar holds more value than the Peso because it is accepted in more places around the world. USD is more useful than Pesos.

Is it because BitCoin was first and has better name recognition?

Somewhat, yes. Bitcoin has been around for a longer amount of time, and it is very established and accepted as payment for so many different things.

The value of SBD may skyrocket and surpass Bitcoin. At the same time, it is possible that Bitcoin's value will take a dive. It just depends on the market.

Bitcoin may be the biggest hodl win you'll see in your lifetime. Network effect makes it arguably the most secure blockchain. Also bullish on Ethereum even though it has many technical and cultural hurdles ahead of it (but what crypto doesn't right?). Also think Monero and Dash have significant technological advantages. I like NXT even though it's initial distribution wasn't handled so well. It's a great technology though.

Also think Bitshares and Steem are crazy good technology but they have to put the brakes on generating new coins to make the investment sound.

I'm a little out of the loop on Counterparty. I like the currency and it's capabilities but it's suffered from being a bit too slow for transactions. Feel like it's being left behind.

Edit: Forgot to mention Maidsafe and Storj as really promising technologies still in testing phases. When they launch they have the potential to change the face of cloud computing (MAID) and cloud storage (SJCX) the same way Steemit has changed social.

They all are great and valuable assets to steemit and bitshares.
