I used to own a commidor 64. I wanted a nes but my mum and gran got me the C64 and boy was i pissed. I couldn't understand how to use it, i was only 7. It took tapes and the loading screen looked like mashed spaghetti pixels. I managed to get a game working on it which was a knight going through a graveyard and fighting dead things like zombie crows I think. Great game when it would load properly, I had to button mash the keyboard and hope for the best.
Anyway the video above is pretty interesting. Early days, and who knew you could send an email in 1984?
Reminds me of crypto today. God knows where we're going with it. Decentralized databases and all that. I think the internet turned out to be amazing, blockchain will end up being like internet 2.0 - less centralized, a better deal for users, wealth distribution and increased financial freedom from governments and banks. That's the idea anyway.
Wikipedia is going to be on EOS in the form of the forked Everpedia, which must be a good idea. It will be censor proof so people all around the world will be able to view it without government interference or propaganda. But this could be dangerous - the road to hell is paved in good intentions. The internet was cool because it didn't seem so politically and ideologically charged, it just sounded like a good idea.
Fantastic
jolly good
