Crypto is the new internet (ok it's not exactly the internet, but the internet is the closest comparison). Bitcoin is how you get on the new internet (much like your modem) It gives you access to the new internet of things which is right now composed of cryptocurrencies, blockchains and digit assets. These other cryptocurrencies don't do much right now, just like how the early internet was mainly message boards and a few pictures Bitcoin has already changed venture capitalism and crowdfunding. Before Bitcoin, if you wanted to participate, you needed to be well connected, accredited and wealthy. Nowadays, a 15 year old kid in Africa with access to the internet and no ID can invest as little as $5 into the worlds next Ethereum (which went up more than 5,000% this year alone). This is an unlikely scenario, but the fact that it's POSSIBLE is what proves to me that we have only seen the beginnings of the disruptive nature of bitcoin & crypto in general.
I'm excited for 2018 where we will see decentralized exchanges, provably fair casinos (where each coin holder is the house), crypto based lending ($SALT) and e-gaming.
