How To Store Your Paper Wallet Info in Plain Sight Like Some Kind of Savant Mr. Robot Hacker

Hi Steemit,

I'd like to share with you an idea I've been kicking around to covertly have copies of your paper wallet/passwords on your person or in your records without having to worry about anyone suspecting they might have any monetary value or utility:

Of course, the odds that someone would know what to do with a stolen QR code is pretty low in the first place, however for an extra 10 minutes of work you can have the extra peace of mind that only you and any other people that you want to tell will know the true value of these old coupons. This technique could also extend to how to keep QR codes on your hard drive in a way that appears much less interesting to people hacking you and seeking financial info.

@cryptographer love this! More people need to keep their wallets safe.

Thanks man! Of course the weakness to this technique is that someone might carelessly toss the coupons or you might forget that's what they are...but I think if you're the one to edit and print out the coupons it'll be hard to forget : )

Exactly haha :)

And now that everyone has read this article, this method is not safe anymore.

You could argue the same thing about writing down your passwords anywhere in real life. I think this method will still be relatively safe even if it is common knowledge, because nobody will know for sure which service and which QR code it is, out of many that you may have lying around normally.

I don't write down my passwords, I just memorize them.
