Exodus: Bitcoin Wallet / Exchange with built in ShapeShift. Store your Crypto in Style.

Introducing "EXODUS" - The first desktop multi-asset wallet with ShapeShift built in.

I have full permission to use the above video and promo video below by Exodus

My path to Exodus.

The first time i opened Exodus i new this was the Blockchain Asset Wallet for me.

As a new Crypto enthusiast (beginner to bitcoin etc) we tend to look for the best option to hold our Crypto currencies. Finding the right solution can turn into days/weeks of testing before we find something that suits our needs and personality.

If your like me and you like to get your hands dirty and test the absolute sh** out of whatever your trying to use, then you will find many wallets to keep you busy for a while. I have used and tested many desktop and mobile as well as cold storage wallets, some of these include: Bitcoin Core, Armory, Electrum, Breadwallet, Mycelium, Airbitz, Jaxx, Blockchain, Coinbase and many more.

I spent literally months testing/using every wallet i could get my hands on. As you get more involved with the #Crypto world, you will most likely start using more than one currency ie: Bitcoin/Ethereum/Dash etc. This becomes an issue because there are limited options for storing multiple Blockchain assets. I literally had a wallet for each currency scattered everywhere

You will also find exchanging between currencies can be a pain in the butt and just becomes more of a risk and a task.

As a new user to #Bitcoin (because that's normally what everyone buys first) you also become very paranoid you might lose your coins by way of theft, or even sending them to the wrong address. I know when i first started purchasing Bitcoin i was scared as hell of losing my stash, this was one of the main reasons i went hunting for the best solution for storing my assets.

Every wallet i installed was great until my knowledge of Crypto increased and i wanted to store and exchange more currencies. I also found trading Bitcoin was a way to make some extra profit, so i needed somewhere to store my profited assets.

Not everyone cares about the way an app looks or feels when they use it, they are more interested in it's functionality, and that's fine that's just not me. I want the best of both worlds, Functionality and the look to go with it, and if possible have some form of customization by way of skins etc, finding an app that has all of these traits is no easy task . Having a personal customized app makes it all that much more awesome to use on a daily basis. And of course let's not forget security - I want a nice easy way to backup my SEED via a PASSPHRASE.

Another very important (to me one of the most important ) aspect of an app is REGULAR UPDATES to improve it's overall abilities. I also look to see if it is a large company or a smaller team that has created the app, you may ask why right?. Well from personal experience with creating software for a virtual world i know and understand the attention to detail that is injected into a project when the team is very small. I am not saying that larger teams don't produce quality , all i am saying is i prefer to get on the ground floor with something i can see has potential and received that little extra love and tender care.

So if you mix and find something with the 'regular update/improvements' and the 'extra attention to detail' factor you are most likely going to find something special.

I have personally been using Exodus now for a few weeks and i won't be looking any further. Exodus is the complete package . Exodus not only has a beautiful User Interface (UI) but also allows you to exchange any of the coins you hold within Exodus using the Shapeshift built in exchange. I have tested exchanging all the currencies within Exodus and sending to external exchanges without issues. The ease of use is by far the best user experience you will find with any Multi Blockchain asset wallet available.

Track the value of your multi-asset portfolio, in real time, as market conditions change.

Exchange between coins as easy as 1,2,3.

Sending and recieving Blockchain assets has never been easier

Easy to see and track transactions

Backing up your seed is so simple compared to other wallets it is incredible

Exodus has a great selection of custom skins (more to come) to add more flavor to your experience

Support is available and feedback is welcome directly from within Exodus.

What makes Exodus unique?

  • Exodus connects to peer-to-peer with every coin that it supports. No OTHER multi-asset wallet does this. This gives Exodus a unique advantage of real-time communication with other coin nodes.
  • Ability to work with native USD with ShapeShift.
  • Visual portfolio
  • Ability to customize via skins, and in the future sounds.
  • Multiple currencies (more to come)

So what can we expect from Daniel and JP in upcoming releases?

  • More currencies to be added (if/when Shapeshift implements Steem, Exodus will also include it.) And they are very keen to make that happen.
  • API for plugin support
  • 2 Factor Hardware Support
  • New skins
  • Mobile versions

I will be creating more videos for Exodus on my YouTube channel if you have the desire for more.

What?!?! No mention of being able to hold Steem?!?!?

Oh dont worry they are looking into it...There are currently no Steem wallets. The reason is it is so new and as you can see still in beta. But be assured if ShapeSfhit implements then Exodus will also through ShapeShift.

I finally caught the Shapeshift continuance on Steem. Got it.

Gonna try it - do a lot of eth & btc

We have looked into it and have it on our list. If you want to connect with our social media channels, we will announce all new additions to our platform there:

It took alot of hunting but i am glad i finally have it.

This is awesome. Beats downloading 15 different wallets and trying to figure out what you have in them all.

Exactly that's why i use it and the security is top notch

Looks like an awesome easy to use interface. Thanks for sharing!

yeah and they are always updating aswell , they just released a new version here https://www.exodus.io/releases/

Wow I've been looking for a wallet that holds multiple assets and this one looks really promising! Downloaded. Thanks for the post mate!

Your Welcome

so how do i sent my steem dollars to my exodus wallet?

Exodus wallet doesnt have steem dollars as an option. I guess maybe because the market cap has been so low for so long they never introduced it. Maybe now with the rise of steem they may re consider.

But sending steem dollars to your wallet will give you an option to exchange them to bitcoins as in other online wallets like Mycelium? In that case it would work, right?!

No because the Exodus wallet wont accept SBD, it only excepts http://prntscr.com/fbv2f1 . I simply send the Steem Dollars to my Bittrex account then sell for Bitcoin there.

I'll check it out, thank you!

Since changelly gave notice it has issues cause of Poloniex being down, I am looking for a new client to send steem dollars to a online wallet

Thanks for the info.
