TRON - BitTorrent to Grow With 3 Incentive Plans

BitTorrent and the TRON Foundation plan on on-boarding 1 billion users to adopt their recently launched BitTorrent (BTT) tokens with the help of three incentive programs. Justin Sun, the CEO of TRON announced the news on Twitter with a link to the Medium page that explains the three incentive programs in further detail.

According to the Medium page, “with our three new incentive programs, we aim to bring a new audience into the blockchain community and make this powerful technology accessible within products that people are using every day.” Sun added that “What we are building will benefit a 1 billion computers installed base, businesses and active TRON and BTT users.

So how do these incentives work?

TRON believes that there is a clear overlap between TRON and BitTorrent, as the peer-to-peer model BitTorrent currently uses which serves over 100 million active users, at its core is very similar to blockchain technology. While not so much information was revealed until a few more weeks to come, this initiative will help boost and accelerate education efforts for BitTorrent users when it comes to blockchain technology, allowing them access to both BitTorrent and TRON. TRON expects the number of TRX holders to increase, helping consolidate TRON’s position as a top leader in the blockchain sector.

As for the Partner Incentives, since the BitTorrent token launched on January 28th 2019, the token has been listed on over 30 leading exchanges. This also includes very big exchanges like Binance, Bithumb, Bittrex, Bitfinex, Huobi, Upbit, OKEX, Gate.io, and has also gained a lot of support from a number of wallets such as Trust Wallet, TronLink, Cobo Wallet and Huobi Wallet. To boost adoption of BTT and BitTorrent technology, TRON has decided to provide a Partnership Plan to all exchanges and wallets that support BTT. By getting the partners involved, the key goal is to gain feedback, enhance protocol and allow the new users to enjoy greater efficiency when it comes to downloading services, but at the same time, allow those who contribute to earning tokens. The program will allow BitTorrent’s users to receive BTT airdrops and to also explore the Tron and BitTorrent ecosystem. If you guys are interested in this, the ratio of the BTT airdrop on March 11, 2019, is approximately 1 TROn is equal to 0.01 BTT. Though, due to the uncertainty of the TRX block rewards and coin burn, the final ratio may be different. The following airdrop ratio will be announced later.

And finally the ecosystem initiatives. With over 1 billion devices that have BitTorrent based clients downloaded through BitTorrent and uTorrent, TRON plans to take advantage of this unique opportunity to boost the mainstream adoption of the BTT. Now, to make BTT available to most people and accelerate blockchain mass-adoption, BitTorrent plans to offer an incentive program to clients who rely on the BitTorrent protocol so that their users can participate in BTT. This will boost the entire industry as it will help promote blockchain technology.

As you guys can see here, the launch of the three incentive plans will without a doubt benefit both BitTorrent and TRON’s existing user base, but it also represents a new way for the organizations and the whole industry to grow. TRON and BItTorrent are pretty tight-lipped about the situation until the next few weeks, so we’ll have to wait to find out more about these incentivization programs. While BitTorrent doesn’t currently have 1 billion active users, it’s still quite impressive to have 100 million on the platform with the likelihood of many testing and trying out the new BTT user incentivization approach. Here’s hoping that this will be a new growth chapter for TRON and BitTorrent.
