PayPal Executive John Rainey Is Positive About Bitcoin As A Future Popular Payment Method

In a recent The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) interview, the chief financial officer of PayPal, John Rainey spoke positively about Bitcoin becoming a future popular option for payments.

Rainey told WSJ that PayPal was one of the first companies to accept the digital currency in their Braintree Platform back in year 2015.

However, because of Bitcoin's volatility at present, it is not a reliable currency for transactions.

As a merchant having a 10% profit margin and you accept BTC, you lose if Bitcoin drops 15% the next day.

When asked by WSJ about Bitcoin being a popular payment option in the future, Rainey said that there is a "very high likelihood" as there is a real merit to the technology.
