Agreed, but the problem is many people using conventional storage providers like Amazon cloud and Dropbox and open themselves up having their content data mined. Siacoin is cheaper than Amazon cloud and Dropbox per TB and there should be no risk of your data being snooped on.
I have the same fear. I hate storing anything that I think is valuable on Dropbox or Google Drive. Hopefully, Sia will solve that problem.
