Unfortunately scammers were rampant in the dot.com bubble they are rampant now in the crypto world. The crypto space offers this same type of opportunity to pump-and-dump fraudsters, and wanna-be experts, preying on the desires of those who have less. Have you ever wondered why it is always those people who have less and desire more, that are scammed the most? It's because they have big hearts and want to believe in the promises of others. Be careful in this space.
There are a few snakes in sheep's clothing pouncing on those with big hearts, all the while proclaiming how much they care about you. Well, yes they care, but it's not about YOU...it's about your pocketbook and how much of it they can possess. If you suspect that you have been scammed, or are aware of pump and dump schemers, call the SEC's fraud division and report them. If you feel someone is offering financial advice - "buy this buy that and you'll be rich" - call the SEC and report them.
EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS:
https://www.sec.gov/investor/alerts/s....
This is taken from that notice: "Most fraudsters spend a lot of time trying to convince investors that extremely high returns are “guaranteed” or that the investment “can’t miss.” Don’t believe it." IF ANY OF THAT SOUNDS FAMILIAR, OR YOU STUMBLE UPON A FRAUDSTER WITH THOSE METHODS AND SALES PITCHES DISGUISED AS 'ADVICE', AVOID AND REPORT THEM!
