A café dedicated to cryptocurrency just opened yesterday in Dublin. New spot for Steem meetups? I just paid for my cup of tea with Litecoin, would love to pay with Steem.
Aungier Street Is Getting A Brand New Cafe - With A Pretty Unusual Twist
Aungier Street is about to get a brand new cafe - where you can pay in cryptocurrency.
Crypto Cafe will open on Monday and serve a variety of hot drinks, sandwiches and freshly baked goods.
A member of staff said that initially the cafe will only accept a few forms of cryptocurrency.
"We will support more as transfers become more and more polished, as the whole market has been upset with the surge of many new users."
With such an apparently volatile market, why did they choose to take cryptocurrency at all?
"The cafe was almost entirely funded from Cryptocurrencies," they explained.
"So to reflect the idea of decentralised digital currencies having made a difference in the real world we decided to accept payments in that form, following trends in other parts of the world."
Thankfully the cafe, which is located at 23 Aungier Street (near the Carmelite Community Centre) will also accept physical money.
Let's get them on Steem, I'll gift the rewards of this post to the owners if they decide to get onto Steem.

I love the idea of taking crypto beyond the online to the physical realm.
Sort of like decentralizing the offline!
Pls get them to signup an account on Steemit with immediate effect Sir. It would be good for Steem and for them too.
Tell them there customers will pay zero transaction fees to trade with them. Plus its super-fast and there could even be other benefits.
For example, a satisfied customer could make a post on Steemit after visiting them and get an upvote from the Cafe account. Either way too, the Cafe can make daily customer albums and get upvotes from customers.

I will have to pay them a visit. I think perfect location for the monthly meet ups if they have beer would be a bonus for the non coffee drinkers.

So someone's trying it in Dublin! I remember an English bloke in '14 who got some financing for the "Nxt Cafe" in Shoreham.

Last I checked, it had been struggling. The associated Website and the Twitter account for it have both gone dark, so it's likely given up the ghost.
Here's hoping that the luck of the Irish will kick in for this cafe!
Great to see it. Hopefully you can convince them of the benifits of steem straight away. It would be so easy to transfer to their account on steemit for payments.
They could run a few competitions, talk with their customers. It is only a matter of time before some businesses start to get involved in the site, it might as well be them.

The ability to use crypto to purchase physical items makes it much easier for people to understand and/or "buy into" crypto currencies.
The happy thing, but for us in Indonesia banned oeh government banks to use cryptocurrency as a means of payment. even if the meeting can be convicted prison.
