2 days ago Transfer 19.772 SBD toSo like a fool I thought I would transfer some funds from Steem to Hive. I spoke with @steevc who said lots of people were using @ionomy so I created an account (I haven't paid for anything, do they do freebie accounts?) and then used the information to transfer from Steem to ionomy. My Steem wallet says: @ionomy although I can't see anything anywhere on ionomy regarding the $19.772 SBD so I suppose those funds have disappeared down a black-hole then?

Thank god I never use FIAT for buying cryptocurrencies because the whole process is too insecure for transferring funds ect. At least with FIAT if you sent the cash to the wrong place or put a wrong account number eventually the bank would get your money back but from my experience on two occasions where I have transferred money that's vanished into thin air there's been no recourse whatsoever if something goes wrong you've lost your money.

Maybe I should have kept my paltry funds on Steem?

Not sure what happened there. I have done several Steem transfers to ionomy that all worked fine. I tend to double check I copied the memo code, but if it was invalid I would hope they would send the funds back. I have not paid for my account either. I can't see where you contact their support.

Is it possible you sent HBD to your HIVE wallet? Just trying to think of ways it could fail.

Crypto is not necessarily less secure than using banks, but you have to be really careful and exchanges can make mistakes. So far I don't seem to have lost anything doing this with various transfers, some of them pretty large.

I clicked on the Steem wallet and a box pops up telling you who to send it to: @ionomy and the number to put in the Memo field. All copied and checked correctly. I think I've been scammed. 😭

Maybe try and ask them?

It wasn't my intention to mislead you. I've not heard of others having this issue.

Don't be silly. You haven't mislead me, I might think you're misguided.............Bwahahaha

I can assure you ionomy is 100% trustworthy.

Did you email [email protected]

Nope, but I will now.

You'll be pleased to know a guy by the name of Colin from @ionomy is looking into it for me. I suspect I've done something wrong although I can't think what?
