Monero is currently one of the more profitable cryptocurrencies to mine, as it is ASIC miner resistant. This means it is still worth mining on a home rig or an otherwise idle machine.
It is also enjoying a general rise in value, recently peaking over AUS$600. Currently at AUS$531.16. It is ranked eleventh on the cryptocurrncy list at the moment.
I get my Android tablet doing that at a snails pace LOL
