IOTA does have the potential but I would consider still a risky investment. The past couple of months IOTA was idle and gained no profit in price.
Now all of a sudden there is a development and the price goes high. It might be genuine but it may also be manipulation. IOTA is a long term investment coin and if it grows constantly then the price might reach $10-$20 by February ending. It depends on the developers of IOTA whether the coin will have any value in the future or not...

I appreciate your opinion and we should always be cautious but genuinely I after reading many things about IOTA; it has developed a faith and place in my heart for it. Of course it's a long term player which may leave a definite impact on technological advancements.
It not about short term gains, but I am predicting IOTA crossing 100$ by early 2019. If it really advances it could be in 4 digits in several years to come.
Invest wisely and do your research before investing...
