Crypto prediction: The only way is up.

So the crypto marketcap just broke through the $250Billion USD mark, and I figure it's a great time to revisit the basic fundamentals of crypto investments.

Needless to say, I'm not an investment expert and this is not investment advice. But I do know people and culture.

What is a reasonable expectation for the months and years ahead for cryptocurrencies?

Well, there are a couple of factors to consider, all in play:

• A good indication of the world's appetite for innovation is the NASDAQ composite index. This index is generally known for investment in information technology and communication companies. At the moment, the NASDAQ index alone is sitting on USD $7.5 Trillion. That is about 30 times bigger than the total market cap of crypto currency. http://money.visualcapitalist.com/all-of-the-worlds-stock-exchanges-by-size/ The major stock markets control about USD$60 Trillion.
• I'm not a fan of Wall St, but it's pretty safe to speculate that crypto is pretty much flying under the radar of big investment. This will change quickly when a few blockchains reach the tipping point into mass adoption. It's going to get a bit silly.
• Cryptos are true children of the internet - borderless, stateless. People from all over the world are already investing in cryptos. This means that when the crypto tipping point hits, it will hit big.
• Bitcoin is currently the trusted player in blockchain technology. When the tipping point arrives, people will be backing it in a big way (I think) - but they will also be splashing cash looking for the next big thing. Many established tokens will fly.

Only ever invest what you can afford to loose.
