Hello all. Today ill talk about day trading and my first week on steemit. I made my "Introduceyourself" post 1 week ago. I wanted to write this as a check point for myself and others who may be following me.

So far I have really enjoyed my experience here on steemit. I have found some users to be very helpful and post helpful content. I have also seen users that post basically garbage and beg for upvotes. It can be hard to be seen due to the volume of new posts making your new content old news in 10 minutes. I have also noticed that everyone wants to promote their own posts and want people to read them but, they don't want to read and upvote others content. I really think there needs to be more category choices. Some tags that are necessary wont get seen because there is no listing for them on steemit and probably no one searching those tags.

In my first week i wrote 4 articles. One of them was dedicated to a local fishing group in my state that I am involved in and their progress as a community. I wanted to write one per day but i put in about 13 hour days for work and commute and sometimes I'm just to tired to pump out an article before bed.

I have helped 2 people sign up for steemit so far, 1 of them I know will be active because he has TONS to write about and its on a hot topic. I hope to spread the word and get a few more.

I invested in about $15 USD of steem power mostly out of curiosity. I plan on slowly building up my steem power as needed. Maybe $5 per paycheck for now. I'm still building my confidence in steemit so i don't want to get crazy with it.

I have also invested about $50 USD into Etherium. I sent to Binance and now I am actively day trading steem with about $35 of it. Now I know that $35 dollars is not enough to day trade with but I was impressed with my ability to start with about 8 Steem and turn it into over 11 steem in one day by Hawk-eyeing the market. If I would have played it just a little better It would have come out to about 13 steem.

The markets can be hard to understand as a beginner. I'm choosing steem because I have noticed good stability in its price. It seems to often fluctuate from about $2 USD up to around $5 USD every couple of days. This is troublesome for steemit users when they see their rewards go down. Some may be confused and think this is because of a downvote which can cause a little bit of panic and second guessing the steemit platform.

I for one get excited when steem drops in price because it gives me an opportunity to buy steem at a relative low price and then wait a few hours or over night for it to rebound. My first day trying this method I had good success which has put me in an upward trend and a position to earn even more from my original investment. If I don't have to put more bill money into it that's fine by me. I probably will add about $15 every two weeks to my binance account so I can trade with more volume.

Ok now I haven't had just pure success. after my initial successful trade, I did panic sell at a loss. This was because I thought the dip had started, I was wrong. After it jumped up about 10 cents I thought it was going to climb even more so I bought on a small dip in an effort to shave an extra cent or two. It proceeded to climb up another couple of cents and then dropped about 15 cents before I could sell at any kind of a profit. I'm still waiting for the price of steem to jump to about $3.20 and I will dump and start all over.

I am starting with very low money amounts because I want to get my feet good and wet before risking larger amounts of money.

I'm excited to be meeting other people from my state and surrounding areas.

All in all I'm enjoying my experience here at steemit. I don't have much to show yet but there it is. I will try to post one of these every week or so or as interesting improvements arrive.

Dustin thank you for commenting on my post about putting people first on Steem which is how I got to your profile! I sent an upvote bid for your post on my bot.

Your profile says you are in the USA which means you might be interested to know that the FTC guidelines require disclosures near all affiliate links including the Coinbase and the Binance links in the post helping the reader understand that you may earn a commission for sharing those links! Will you take a look at the format I use on https://jerrybanfield.com/resources/ because it seems to be effective in generating commissions and meeting the FTC guidelines?

I intend to give you a resteem on this post which I hope will help you connect with a few of your fellow followers!

Thank you so much Jerry! Ill fix that disclosure right away.

Its so great to connect with you! I greatly appreciate all the support I get. I have spent dozens of hours doing homework on steemit and cryptos, and much if it has been your content.

I hope to grow more here on steemit and as an individual. Thanks for all your help, and I wish you and yours a happy, healthy and prosperous 2018!

Sincerely, Dustin

Hey @dustin-hutson ! If you're looking for super up-to-date info on crypto, check out my post (I'm pretty new here too). We're both into crypto and I'd love if we could share resources with each other!

Check out my posts and let me know what you think :)

@jerrybanfield I believe before sending people to a page littered with affiliated links as a resource for information on FTC guidelines, you should send them to an actual guidelines, here: https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/ftcs-endorsement-guides-what-people-are-asking
Your resources page, while beautiful, offers no real info aside from a specific way that works for you on a specific page. There are a ton of options available on the correct page to refer people to, selflessly.. but while at it, please checkout http://blokz.io/ for the start of my personal development plan I'm working on, and while there please check my resources tab on the front page for some affiliate examples as well!! (; LoL. I love you Jerry, always a fan, God bless.

Thank you as well. I appreciate all of the information and support.

Nice work, and day trading is not a bad idea as long as trades are limit and stop loss orders and they end up being free. I stopped day trading bcz each day trade ends up to be a taxable event...

Thanks for the comment! Were you trading traditional stocks or crypto's?

Crypto... I still have over 20 different coins

Muy buen Post @dustin-hutson

Thank you! I try. I have alot to learn.

day 7 on week steemit
wawww @husting-huston best

I have also noticed that everyone wants to promote their own posts and want people to read them but, they don't want to read and upvote others content.

This is there YouTube creators coming over fail. They churn out links to there YouTube videos but never engage. And eventually leave again. Because that is not the way Steemit works.

Thank you. I hope as a community we will be able to clean some things up within steemit.

your work is really apprectiable

Your comment is appreciated! Thank you for your support!

Steem is worth trading and hodling. Great investment and working product :) Good success to you on and off the platform.

And to you as well. I agree that steem is a good coon to hold. I like that I can day trade it and use it in the steemit platform.

Buying some Steem Power is a good idea. I should do it, myself.

I’d love to start day trading crypto. Pretty hard to juggle keeping up with the fast moving crypto markets, and working a full time job, and having a wife, and young son to worry about when you head home. There might be more $ to be made in trading crypto than my regular job.

You and I have that in common. I also have a wife and a 3 year old son and a more then full time job as a house painter. I am also building a website for someone, day trading, writing on steemit and I try to go fishing any opportunity I get. There just isnt enough hours in the day. I think the Crypto space is well worth the time and money investment. I hope to quit my day job eventually and support my family with crypto trading and blogging. Only a dream as of now. But a good goal to work toward. Thank you for your comment.

Hey man. On a similar journey. Been on Steemit for about a week and a half and just started dabbling in crypto with a small amount to get a feel. So far I am even. Had some good gains followed by some mistakes. But breaking even while learning is actually a huge gain so im happy so far. Look forward to following you and seeing how it goes. Good luck!

Thank you and good luck! Its easy to misread the markets. Nano coin is at a very low point. When it goes up, alot of people will make lots of money. NAV is loosing right now but will go back up with vengeance (I hope)
