I have also been thinking of a ways for myself to grow this platform. I am wanting to get on board with the minnow support projects, plus I have another idea that I believe is great! One of my very close family friends owns a large and replicable pawn and gold shop. He wants to start excepting Alt coins and getting involved. I thought of a way for steemians to trade their SBD rewards for gift cards. It is a great way for Steemians to buy every day stuff with their blogging rewards...I just need Steemit Veterans like yourself @barrydutton to vouch that it is legit.
