First of all, this is a very long interview at 3 hours and 17 minutes. It took me three days to watch in 1 hour chunks but it had me coming back wondering what new incites were to be discussed next. The format is a live YouTube interview with chat enabled which at points becomes distracting to Boxmining(@boxmining). Many topics are discussed during this marathon interview. They talk about Cardano, cryptocurreny history, DPOS vs DPOW, atomic swaps, Bitcoin, Satoshi, LTC, NEO, XLM, EOS, IOTA, hacks, exchange protocols and general state of the crypto community. Charles also takes the opportunity to fire some shots back at Dan Larimer(@dan) for comments made over the last few months. Overall this interview is very educational and entertaining. Boxmining and Charles have a great rapport which leads to a good flow of the interview. Charles is obviously an extremely smart man who has an unmatched experience and track record within the blockchain community. Boxmining is well read and research enough that he can ask questions of Charles that allow him to go beyond the basics of blockchain. I definitely learned a lot about the history of the community, the relationships and where I should expect the community to be going in the short and long term. If you are investing in blockchain or are interested in seeing beyond the media hype then this interview gives a great perspective straight from one of the communities OG members. I really hope he adds "real use case value" to ADA and not just an academic paper creator.
it would be nice to see his blockchain actually adopt and merge all the other chains and him just continue to dominate the space.
He definitely seems to prefer the research side and is not in a huge a huge marketer. In a few years he still may have one of the best products available. I can see the tradition business market wanting to work with the Cardano Team because of their academic pedigree. He also stated they would be consulting for fees with other blockchain companies which may help them with inter-chain compatibility in the end.
