Here we are again.
Another Ransomware asking for 300$ worth of Bitcoin to unlock safely victim's computers.
Companies around the World are reporting that they are being victim of a major ransomware cyber-attack.
Ukrainian firms, including the state power distributor and Kiev's main airport were among the first to report issues.
Experts report that the attack modality is very similar to the Wannacry attack that hit the European countries last month.
Andrei Barysevich, a spokesman for security firm Recorded Future, said that the malware has been seen for sale on many forums over the last 12 months for the price of 28$.
Also has been reported that a South Korean hosting firm paid $1m to get their data back and definitely this is a great incentive for the hacker to continue doing it.
Other than the ones named above, there are other "big" victims, such as:
- Ukrainian central bank
- Aircraft manufacturer Antonov
- Two postal services
- Russian oil producer Rosneft
- Food giant Mondelez
- Legal firm DLA Piper
- French construction materials company St Gobain
- Danish shipping company Maersk
I am not really sure if the fact that the hackers want to be paid in Bitcoin affects the currency itself. But I believe that for sure it creates in the head of the people a negative link Bitcoin = Hackers.
Thanks.

I always try to rewrite article with my own words. When I write a post, I read about it on different sources, I take the infos I believe be more important and then rephrase in my own words.
Is it plagiarism? I don't think so
About images, I will pay attention to put the source although they are taken randomly from internet (on some posts, not on posts where I say that the pictures are mine).
A partial rewrite is something funny, because, for example, writing "Germany defeated Chile in the Confederation cup final with the result of 1-0" may easily incur in "partial rewrite" although I have wrote it right now from scratch.
I completely agree with fighting plagiarism and people simply copying and pasting content from other website. I hope these bots will be improved, otherwise it will be impossible to write any news on Steemit without being finger pointed for plagiarism.
