Researching new cryptos for a potential investment

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Researching new cryptos for a potential investment is quite a time consuming process as there are various sources to visit and information to read. I've listed some essential sites to research in this basic overview.

I've found that the Coinmarketcap site has most of the essential links to the sites that you will want to visit. In this example, I've selected the recently released token, Dragonchain.

Once you are on the page, there is a link to their Website, the Announcement from Bitcointalk, if they have a Chat channel like discord or telegram. Under Social will show you the Twitter address (if available) and Reddit subforum.

Check out their chart and see when they started trading post ICO. With DragonChain, it was on Sunday Dec 3rd, 2017 @ .26.

Check out their website, how professionally it is done and if it is complete with no broken links/pages, etc...

Check out the founder/CEO's background, the team that they have assembled and their vision going forward.

They have linked Joe Roets Linkedin page where you can see the companies that he has worked for and the positions that he has held. (If there is not link on the companies website you are researching, do a manual search to see if the founder has a LinkedIn page)

Don't forget to review the whitepaper. In general, It helps to have a technical background in information systems, networks, software programming, protocols, etc.... Basically it's not for everyone (including myself,,,,,,, I do have elementary understanding of computer networks)

The screenshot below is not from DragonChain, do you recognize it? It's from B******: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.

Back to Coinmarketcap, the announcement link will send you to the bitcointalk forum and the initial post. This is usually a good summery.

You can do a search for the CEO/founder on Youtube for interviews. The clip below is Joe Roets speaking at the Geekwire Summit from October 2017.

If you do invest, you can keep up to date with the company with the various social sources that are available.
Under the Social tab, you can find the Twitter channel and the latest DragonChain topics on the SubReddit forum.

Here is a shot of their Telegram chat feed:

That should be enough for a 'few' hours of research. Do your due diligence before investing! Happy researching and reading.............
