Hi friends!
since a few days, takeaway.com is accepting BTC in Europe.
So, now you can order pizza at your favorite pizza restaurant and pay with Bitcoin.
I think its a move in the right direction, and i really appreciate to see this kind of progress in acceptance of cryptocurrencies.
But the question is, why would you order food and pay with cryptocurrency TODAY?
The major cryptocurrencies BTC, LTC, DASH etc. are still gaining value, and i believe it won’t stop in the next several years.
In the same time, USD, EUR, JPY etc. are loosing value.
Example:
If you bought something with USD in 2010, lets say for $20.
In 2015 you would had to pay $21.74 instead.
Thats because of the “Inflation Rate”.
you can check this here: http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/
What about Cryptocurrencies?
They also have inflation rates and i found a nice chart here:
The thing is, cryptocurrencies will gain more value due to the growing demand.
I would say, the gain in value that cryptocurrencies achieve in the next years, can’t be achieved by any fiat currency.
Ok, now lets order a pizza for around $20.
Example:
You will pay 0.008 BTC today.
In 5 years it could be as low as 0.0008 BTC instead of ~$22
For sure its only speculative, but as you can see, in 5 years you could MAYBE order 10 pizzas for the same amount of BTC and the USD price wouldn’t have changed that much.
Maybe you also know the story of the “most expensive pizza ever”:

So, what are you buying with your coins and what are your experiences? Did you already order food and payed with your coins? Let me know!
Have a nice sunday, get some nice food, bon appetit, bye!
Interesting take on the matter. I would use Bitcoin for pizza if I had Bitcoin. Haha
Demand vs Supply everywhere work
