Are we expecting the Facebook Coin soon?

Mark Zuckerberg is a big fan of New Year's resolutions. Since 2009, he faces a challenge at the beginning of each year, which he wants to master by the end of the year. After visiting every US state, running 365 miles, building an AI for his home, reading 25 books and learning Mandarin and having mostly personal goals, he wants to focus more on cryptocurrencies and explore their potential uses for Facebook ,

" Give people power"
Many people who work or are interested in the technology sector are particularly attracted to the idea of decentralization, says Zuckerberg. He, too, believes that technology should be decentralized in order to restore power to people.

"Many of us have dealt with technology because we believe it can be a decentralizing force that gives people more power. (The first four words of Facebook's mission have always been "give people power.") In the 1990s and 2000s, most believed that technology was a decentralization force. "

In the face of the few large companies that dominate the Internet, and states that create a kind of "glassy people" through technological surveillance, people have lost that belief. Surely this can hardly be doubted. Such a statement from the mouth of the Facebook CEO is still slightly surprising. Apart from the laudable goal of giving people power over their data, the CEO also hopes for solutions for his company:

"... Facebook has a lot to do - whether it's protecting our community from abuse and hatred, defending against interference by nation states, or making good use of the time spent on Facebook."

For this, Facebook hired two executives who are seriously interested in the blockchain technology. David Marcus, a Facebook manager, joined Coinbase late last year.

Zuckerberg may be interested in a new form of blockchain technology so that he can compete with Alipay and WeChat Pay, which has been used in China for some time. Facebook could even develop its own coin so that users around the world can easily exchange money. However, there are currently no official plans for this. So it remains to be seen what Facebook will surprise us with this year.
