I'm using Equihash for mining with Windows 10. Equihash is an asymmetric memory-hard PoW algorithm that relies on high RAM requirements to slow down the generation of proofs—much like Ethereum.
Like many coins popular with cryptocurrency experts, Zcash distributes the benefits of the coin among many different types of miners, so that not only large mining pools benefit from the currency.
Many miners have felt that cryptocurrency mining became pointless with the benefit tilting toward the large investor.
For this reason, Zcash is popular.
As recently, slushpool added Zcash to the mining pool, I'm using this pool and a mining RIG with 6x 4GB XFX GPU's.
The profits for individual mininig may not be huge, but for stockpiling them for the future it is worth.
One aspect here is that as Zcash came out it was 4300$ 29. October 2016, dropped to 27$ and now it's a big player at ca. 317.18$ with a market capital of $493,369,729, a 24h-volume of $33,357,200 and rank 12 in the market.
So it has - for me - a great potential, so I'm keeping on mining and it is worth !
