First up we’ve got Monero sticking up for the underdogs in terms of mining by making a point to always be ASIC resistant. Then we’ve got the disappointing news about LitePay.
So let’s first take a look at Monero.
This coin has been around for nearly 4 years now, it’s definitely established itself as an authority in terms of privacy coins by creating ring signatures. This privacy protocol is now used in a number of different cryptocurrencies that want to implement privacy features as well. The team behind Monero also wants to be sure that their network in terms of mining stays as decentralized as possible.
We are now in a time where these graphics cards and ASICs manufacturers are recognizing the demand for hardware that is designed for mining cryptocurrencies. We’ve seen Bitcoin’s mining become extremely centralized due to the introduction of ASICs.
The steep price for this type of hardware certainly limits the pool of potential miners since these expensive ASICs also essentially render mining on average CPUs and GPUs much less profitable.
Let’s not forget that Monero is also completely focused on maintaining their privacy capabilities.
They need to consider if a majority of miners use hardware that was built by a big name manufacturer, this manufacturer could quite possibly come under pressure from governments to allow for killswitches to be installed in the hardware they produce. It’s not hard to imagine that Monero and other privacy coins are probably high on that list of cryptocurrencies that governments would like to infiltrate.

So despite the fact that one manufacturer of ASICs called Bitmain, has now created Antminer X3, which is designed to mine cryptocurrencies that use the CryptoNigth hashing algorithm (like Monero), Monero will be rendering this hardware useless for mining their coin. They'll accomplish this by implementing updates every 6 months that are designed for keeping their PoW unmineable by this new hardware.
Now let’s talk about what’s happened with LitePay.
LitePay was announce in the beginning of this year as an innovative payment and credit card system that would allow for Litecoin to be used by merchants around the world.
We need to remember that when a well known and well respected cryptocurrency like Litecoin boasts about a company like this, it’s a given that it’s enthusiastic community would be equally excited about it’s new release.
Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the LitePay company to realize that their promises of inexpensive transactions would be difficult to provide since payment processors like Visa and MasterCard have recently re-evaluated how they would classify cryptocurrency transactions. Now these “special” types of transactions will be considered “cash advances” and as such will incur higher fees.
In addition to the aggressive deadline set for LitePay, there was a lack of communication and transparency between the CEO of LitePay and the foundation of Litecoin. There were also a number of members of the Litecoin community who could see these flags and had their suspicions of the likelihood for the success of this company.
For those who were seeing this through rose colored glasses, this failure was a bit of a surprise.
Charlie Lee has at least admitted to and apologized for being too enthusiastic without following through with better due diligence in regards to his own promotions of LitePay.
It’s important to note that LitePay is indeed a separate company with a different team altogether from the Litecoin Foundation itself. Now some are feeling like this is a major blow for Litecoin and their hopes for reaching the moon this year may have been dashed, but let’s not forget the fact that Litecoin still has a solid team that’s always been very active with progress, so let’s see what happens next and how they chose to remedy this situation.
Now before I end this post I really need to address the fact that there have been a number of imposters, or maybe it’s one very active imposter who has been using my name and photo for their accounts on Telegram and soliciting different channels for ETH and Bitcoin.
Please know that this is NOT me, I will never ask you to send me cryptocurrency in exchange for promises of great investment returns or to be compensated for researching your project.
One in particular was claiming to be a part of my team and asking to be paid .3 bitcoin.
Charlee Lie appologized because he was a part of it.
He was no kid and knew what he was doing by his lack of due diligence.
Probably capitalized both on pump and on dump.

He just wants to make clear as much as possible that he wasn't part of the litepay scam :)
I'm keeping an eye on litecoin as I may buy more soon. Getting weak again.
Hi Heidi !
Thanks for the update as always.
Yhea really interesting how Monero reacts to the Bitmain ASIC Chips. They really do not like to have them on there project 😂
Hi Heidi! WOW thank you soo much for your upvote. Thanks.
Loving these reports!! Not comparing, but sorta reminds me of that report Amanda B. Johnson used to do- I'm liking your specific vibe- It's all you. Keep up the great work!!!
p.s. why aren't you using D-tube?
Everytime I try and upload to D.tube I get an error message about IPFS... any suggestions?
Try using a compression app first then upload youtube already have advance compression algoritims that do this for u dtube is young an still buggy at this moment
Will Handbrake work?
Honesty is simply the best.
Thanks @heiditravel for this interesting and mind blowing write ups!
Im planning to mine monero using GPU....how much hashrate and GPU required to get 1 monero per day?
