Why You Should Ignore the Crypto Naysayers

The history of every major technological revolution tells you to embrace the change.

Cryptocurrency is not a scam.

And it's not a pyramid scheme.

If it were, why would top universities in the United States be investing in it?

Those universities include Harvard University, Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, and the University of North Carolina.

All of these top universities have decided to create cryptocurrency funds.

Cryptocurrency is simply the next round of technological evolution that is redefining how we live on this planet.

Every time a major technological revolution occurs, there are naysayers.

When the car was invented, people criticized it and refused to believe that it was superior to a horse. The media focused all their attention on the injuries and the accidents as ways of trying to undermine the technology. A popular image back in the early days of the car was a man on his hands and knees, trying to fix his broken down car. The media used this as a way to broadcast the shortcomings of the technology.

Or how about the light bulb? When it was first invented, people said that it would burn down homes. People argued that putting electricity in the house for the purpose of lighting would be too much work because it would require people to place wires all throughout the house.

And how about the personal computer? The president of IBM, which then was responsible for overseeing massive machines that occupied the space of entire rooms, is on record for saying that he thought the personal computer idea was a fad and that he couldn't conceive that there would ever be more than 5 computers worldwide.

And finally, what about the internet? People said that it was a gathering space for criminals and fraudsters. But look where we are today.

And look how FAST things have been adopted. The popular futurist, Ray Kurzweil, talks about how new things evolve very slowly and imperceptibly in the beginning, but that they suddenly pick up exponentially -- almost as if the new technology appeared overnight!

When people criticize cryptocurrency, they often point what they perceive as its lack of credibility because it operates outside the frame of centralized authorities like the government.

They say, "Well, the government didn't authorize this form of currency and its not legal tender, so how can we accept it as a form of payment."

But we have to stop thinking of currency in terms of who issued it, and more in terms of who is using it, how many people are using it, and what its useful for.
