Hello Steemit.
Welcome to part two of my initial portfolio update. As expected, many changes have happened in the short time (real world time, not crypto time) between these two parts. In the previous article I covered all coins that made up over 10% each of my portfolio and can be viewed here. This post will cover all coins and tokens in the 9.99% to 3% range of my portfolio. Again things have changed and this was based on the disclaimer timestamp below.
Percentage Holdings are true as of 21/01/18 @ 14:18
9.99-3% Coins
Ethereum [ETH]
Surely the biggest game-changer to Blockchain at the time of it's inception, Ethereum will remain part of my portfolio for the long run. I tend to agree with most predictions of ETH's rise to at least 3-4 times it's current value. Now holding it's $1000 value or more quite nicely I think we can expect to see an increase on it's value more and more over time. In terms of it's utility value, I think we will see this even more so, which to me is highly important. More and more tokens are tokens are built on the Ethereum blockchain and although I do not predict this to continue to always be the case as predominantly as it currently is, I do expect ETH to be a bit player in the crypto space and have a high admiration for it's founder, Vitalik Buterin. As a UK citizen and GBP holder (what a shame), Coinbase currently acts as my fiat gateway and it is through ETH that I will continue to make most of my purchases into crypto, at least whilst the price remains where it is.
ETHOS [BQX]
I have made a few mentions towards ETHOS in my posts recently and with good reason. Unfortunately I bought into ETHOS at a bad time. Just before the dip we have seen in recent times. This was not a bad time because of a lack of profits, they will come, but because I could have had more. Initially branded as Bitquence, hence the ticker symbol, they rebranded this year as ETHOS. Backed by many people within the community (shillers or not only time will tell), ETHOS looks a great project and adds to the small tribe within my portfolio made up of exchange based coins. Accepting of regulations, although not why I'm here, they have shown that they are always thinking one step ahead of the game in terms of solidifying their position within the market longterm. I can only hope that my investment with them is of the same ETHOS (pun intended once again).
Lisk [LSK]
I will admit from the off that my investment in Lisk was one based around increasing the value of my portfolio and not not the diversity of it. I had planned to invest more into Lisk for this reason but had eventually decided against it as my long term applications hopes for Lisk are great, but not for my own personal use. Again, I don't just hold these coins for their value monetarily, I hold them because they will have genuine value to me later on once mainstream adoption of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency takes off. Lisk is due an official re-branding just shy of a month from now (Feb 20th) and I expect, as do many others, that this will have a postive effect on it's value. Whether Lisk remains in my portfolio come Feb 21st is yet to be seen, that will depend on the value of the coin at the time, plain and simple.
Substratum [SUB]
Substratum has been all over the shop recently, being when one of the most volatile coins of the past week or so and as such my general position on it has been up in the air, but not over whether to sell, just over whether to buy more. Every time I think there's a dip and a chance to buy it dips a bit further and then by the time I've decided to come back in it's back up again. Maybe this is neglect on my part, but I'm not a day trader, I'm playing the long game. I have a healthy amount of Substratum and have forked some profits with it at times, having bought at a good price which I am still up on all the same. As such I will be holding this a lot longer and paying close attention to it's utility towards the net neutrality issue as well as developments politically on that as well. Coins that have some anti-government stance (ie, most of them, but not all [shout-out Doge]) have always interested me as I have a strong interest in politics and having studied it at university here in the UK. I hope to cover more politically based analysis of the market in time without causing FUD. But in regards to Substratum's utility, I am impressed.
Binance Coin & KuCoin Shares [BNB/KCS]
I recently wrote an article on my analysis of both of these coins so if you would like an in-depth look at my perspective of these coins, you can view that here. Simple answer: I'm holding both, with KCS probably becoming the larger holding of the two.
Part three, the final part of this initial portoflio update will be posted in due time and will cover the remaining coins in my time-stamped portfolio which will cover the remainder of my portfolio minus the 0.01's I own of everything thanks to Binance. This will include DragonChain, uTrust, DeepBrain Chain, Ripple and of course Steem. Please follow so that you can view that and other articles as soon as they arrive.
This is already so off, I just keep buying the dip.
