Scammers are using social media, particularly Twitter, to cheat people involved in cryptocurrency trading.
It is widely believed that social media is a great source of news or information for millions of people across the world.
Although all information available on the social media sites are not believed to be correct but those are posted by verified account holders are deemed to be not fake. But recent investigations have found an influx of “fake” verified Twitter accounts related to cryptocurrency over the past few months.
And it is becoming a major concern as this trend is quickly spreading and number of fake accounts growing fast. Surely, it is almost impossible to distinguish true and fake information on the Internet.
As a result, people often accept half-truths as legitimate information.
In a bid to preventing people from following fake or potentially scammy accounts, Twitter has very recently introduced a new feature, which is known as their Verified Service.
Despite that, everyone has to remain careful about scamming over cryptocurrency on social media sites. Source: Newsbtc.com
