We have some huge announcements that we’re very excited to make!
Announcement 1: Contract Code Published
Our team has pushed source code of our smart contract up to github.
Link:https://github.com/EtherBots
It’s descriptively typed and well-commented, and we’re also releasing a game guide to help walk you through it. We’ve based the battle functionality off a commit reveal scheme, that takes into account meaningful choices made by the players. You can ready your Robot for battle by submitting (“committing”) a series of moves you want it to make against potential attackers. These moves are stored secretly on the blockchain, so the attacker has no advantage. If you’re attacked, the attacker will also submit a series of moves. You then reveal your moves, the game initiates the battle, and the winner is rewarded with experience and loot (item shards, or if you’re extremely lucky — a part). (Don’t worry; we handle all the hard cryptographic stuff on our end. All you see is a pretty game.)
The contract is still in beta, and you’ll see us updating parts of it over the next few days. We’ve published it early to not only show off some of the sweet functionality, but so that people can feel assured about the state of the game as they watch the final parts of development happen.
We will also be announcing our feature bounty and bug bounty programs in a few days. The feature bounty is to improve any gameplay mechanics or balancing issues, and the bug bounty is for security. We’ve already put in extensive work into making the contract as safe as possible, and the safety of user’s parts are greatly benefited by our ERC721 token implementation for robot parts. We just want to make sure our Etherbots are well oiled and galvanized before they enter the battlefield.
What are some of the things you’ll see in our contract?
• Etherbot parts as tradeable, ownable, non-fungible tokens, implementing best practices.
• A suite of security features and best practices adopted including standard contract pause functionality.
• A novel way to create new types of battles while never restricting access to old styles. (In short: storing an immutable array of contract addresses which we can push to, but never remove from. If you don’t like any new implementations — simply hop back to an earlier game type!)
Announcement 2: The Team behind the Scenes
The feedback we’ve received has been phenomenal so far.
“The captions are witty, the graphics are polished, the team is responsive and open to suggestions.”
However, many of our fans wanted to know who we were (and our skeptics demanded it). Well, the full team page has been published. You can see our beautiful faces on our corporate site(https://www.fuelbros.co/team) and check out what we’ve been up to on our githubs.
We’re a team of blockchain enthusiasts from a range of development (and design) backgrounds. We’ve covered everything from working to improve the Lightning network, creating decentralized Ethereum applications and developing world class enterprise code and designs for leading corporations.
What have we done in the past?
• Leading a front end Development Team at a 9-figure Annual Revenue Corporation
• Software Engineering at Uber
• Animation work for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Origins
• And in our spare time, working to improve the Lightning Network and extensive solidity and security architecture development
(small) Announcement 3: New Robot Crate
Apart from coding, we’ve been working tirelessly on designs and animations for the battle functionality (our animator’s past projects include things like Assassin’s Creed: Origins) to make Etherbots truly gorgeous. We aim for the highest quality in everything we do.You can buy this crate in presale, and we’re also using it for how you’ll receive shards or parts if you’re victorious in a battle.
Announcement 4: Secret (and huge). Coming soon. ;)
We have some very exciting news to share, but we’re finalising the details (and don’t want to spill everything all at once!) Stay tuned over the next week.
As always, we love hearing from our users. If you got a sweet gold part from a crate, think that the frying pan should be nerfed (or Irelia…), or have fantastic idea for a free-for-all deathmatch in the Etherbot equivalent of a Rust map: tell us all about it on our discord, twitter, or reddit.
