My Cyrptocurrency Journey: Part 1 Getting into it

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Hey Steemians,

Just thought I’d do a journal, going through my highs and lows as I enter the lucrative world of cyrptocurrency trading. Shout outs to Suppoman, Jeff Berwick (the dollar vigilante), my dad, mike Maloney and World Alternative Media for demystifying the process and the block chain world.

This is the state of play at the minute, from $90 dollars within two weeks I’ve got here.

But the story starts over 3 years ago, when my dad bought his first Bitcoin. The man is clocking 70 but he always seems to have his finger on the pulse of things, he made a website in 95 before people even gave a shit.

‘Why do we need that?’ I say ‘We have Paypal, and $500 is a lot to spend on a currency with no intrinsic value.’

‘The Internet is like its own country son, and like a country it will eventually have its own currency, and I think this is it.’ He said

Now bit coin is pushing $9000 he’s pretty smug, but he never got into to make money, he’s a retired pensioner with a comfortable life, for him it was more the excitement of this new thing.

About 2 years later, through Mike Maloney opening my eyes to the monterary system, I started buying gold as I way of saving. My dad thought it was a good idea but he still said I should be looking into Bitcoin (which was about $3000) at the time. I simply didn’t have the money to invest.

Enter the dollar vigilant, who I stumbled by on YouTube (those bloody algorithms) through him and world alternative media I was sold, decentralised money! Now for an anarchist like myself that was pull different to my dad’s reasons.

So I bought a course from Udemy and Suppoman (a slick banker type with the heart of a computer nerd) he totally gave me the ‘dummies guide’ of getting into trading as I’m younger I’m a bit more adventurous than dad and decided to go into the alt coins.

Although so far it’s Ethereum (so called cash cow) that is making up for the losses in some of my crypto.

The weird thing is, is that because all alt coins are based on bitcoin the value relative to bitcoin can go down but as bitcoin rises, their value in real money can still climb. Crazy Shit.

I’ll try and keep this journal up and hopefully get more people involved.

Thanks
