1- Stellar, the seventh-largest cryptocurrency network, has become the first digital ledger technology (DLT) protocol to obtain Sharia certification for payments and asset tokenization.
The Stellar Development Foundation announced on Tuesday that, following a review of the technology’s properties and applications, the Shariyah Review Bureau (SRB) had certified Stellar as a Sharia-compliant vehicle for conducting monetary transfers and tokenizing real-world assets.
2 - Blockchain and investment company Decentralised Capital has announced the launch of Australia’s first ever cold storage vault for digital assets. The vault was created in partnership with Custodian Vaults, a subsidiary of precious metals firm Pallion Group.
According to Stephen Moss, founder and director of Decentralised Capital, the new crypto vault is expected to take advantage of Australia‘s growing market for digital currency storage solutions, and it is a sign that bitcoin is a bona fide long term asset.
3 - Tech giant IBM partnered with US-based Stronghold, a financial services company, to work on a cryptocurrency pegged to the US dollar. The new stable coin is aimed to bring some stability in the volatile crypto space.
Stronghold USD, as the cryptocurrency is called, was launched on Tuesday on the Stellar blockchain. Potential buyers will have to deposit fiat money with Stronghold's partner bank – Prime Trust – so that the company could issue the coin with the 1:1 ratio.
4 - According to Ethos, as part of the partnership, the Ethos Bedrock platform will be integrated with Payroc’s payment gateway platform, which will enable a “Pay with Crypto” button to be placed on merchant websites, giving consumers the option of paying with cryptocurrency in addition to traditional payment forms.
5 - The world's first bank-backed cryptocurrency exchange is now open to the public after months of delays.Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings formally launched its in-house crypto trading platform, dubbed VCTRADE, last month.
In an announcement, SBI Holdings said the service is now fully open for users aged from 20–70 who reside in Japan. However, a registration service for corporate customers has not yet been made available.
