Some World Crypto News

#1 - Following the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charging the crypto lending platform Blockfi with failing to register its retail crypto lending product and fining the firm $100 million, the crypto lender Nexo has announced it will no longer allow U.S. citizens to earn interest on new savings wallet top-ups. However, Nexo customers from the U.S. will continue to earn interest on their current savings wallet balances held prior to the announcement.

#2 - Fireblocks, which raised $550 million at an $8 billion valuation last month, is acquiring fellow Israeli company First Digital, a stablecoin and digital asset payments technology platform, Calcalist has learned. First Digital was founded in 2017 by CEO Ran Goldi and Yariv Gilat, with its current leadership team also including CTO Daniel Prinz and COO Guy Hadar. The acquisition will expand Fireblocks’ existing payments capabilities by allowing payment service providers (PSPs) and acquirers to accept payments and make payouts in digital currencies. First provides API-based stablecoin payment solutions, with turnkey implementation of transaction and treasury management, and compliance.
