1- San Francisco-based asset manager Bitwise is joining the race to launch a regulated ETF for cryptocurrency, which if approved could help struggling bitcoin prices.The company filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday for an exchange traded fund that would track an a basket of 10 cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin.
2 - Mike Novogratz, bitcoin advocate and founder of Galaxy Digital, believes that the cryptocurrency market capitalization won’t reach $800 billion by the end of this year, as he previously predicted. However, the billionaire investor maintains that it will do so within the next 12 months.
3 - Hacker Exposes Security Vulnerability in Popular Cryptocurrency Site Etherscan. THE “ELITE” HACK. The hack itself wasn’t exactly revolutionary — the hacker simply added a pop-up to the site displaying “1337,” decades’ old hacker lingo for “you’ve been hacked.” Etherscan users took to Twitter to warn other of the hack, and later on Monday.
4 - Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, is about to enter South Korea. Launched in July last year, Binance is currently the largest one of its kind in terms of trading volume and it is planning to establish three to five local corporations within this year.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao attended the Blockchain Partners Summit in Seoul on July 21 to 22. During his keynote speech, he stressed the importance of the South Korean market, saying that his company would enrich its community in the market.
5 - John McAfee, the creator of the famous antivirus software and the controversial figure in the world of crypto assets, has launched McAfeeMarketCap.com. The website shows data on digital coins, starting with the biggest ones. It shows their market capitalization size, current market price, etc.
