Howdy Steem Community, and happy 2018! After reading, researching, etc.--I've decided to take the plunge and open an account. Partly because I've started down the cryptocurrency road and this seemed like another logical step...and partly because after reading some posts it hurts my brain not to get involved. I'm not a professional blogger, most of my writing is of a technical/business nature and purely job related, and I'm not claiming to be an authority or the content police. What I'll be expressing are my opinions and observations.
My personal crusade against extremely poor content
I've read a number of articles before signing up and I've seen them run the gamut from extremely well written to pure stream of consciousness garbage doing little more than asking for upvotes to make a quick buck. If the goal of this platform is to reward users for "curating high-quality content"...well then, I want to do my part to actually contribute more than plagiarized content, insults, the same tired "to the moon" articles, and lambo memes. Reddit and other platforms already do that, what's the point of duplicating it here?
What can you expect from Jimmy2x?
I'm sure I'll write an article about cryptocurrency like everyone else once in a while but I don't intend to focus solely on it. I'm not an expert, I don't have a background in day trading, and frankly I don't care to give financial advice. Most likely you will see a post or two about how I approach research and investing. My approach focuses less on what coins kids want to pump and more on which have a viable business case that is usable, sustainable, and potentially profitable.
Aside from those few crypto articles--you'll likely see content about the weird things that I love., mostly motorcycles and random fringe topics, conspiracy theories, etc. Both are a great departure from my work life and help my brain relax. I've ridden and worked on my own motorcycles for years, mostly Harley Davidson Twin Cams and Evos. I'm not a pure "HD" guy, they're just what I prefer. They're simple, parts are plentiful, and with proper maintenance they'll run for far longer than you care to keep them. Doesn't mean I don't love or appreciate anything with two wheels and a motor...that's just my personal preference to ride and wrench on for now. If you ever have questions or want to talk about anything on two wheels--just leave a comment or drop me a line!
So that's it in a nutshell. I'm looking forward to participating, engaging in discussion, learning with other users here, and helping where I can. Until next time--take care, good luck, and don't be a dick (unless you've got reason)!
Take 'er easy,
J2X
