The best performing ICOs that I've invested in are not listed on the two main exchanges because they have actual business plans.
Peerplays is a gambling platform run on a graphene blockchain. In August they will release Eight, a real-time interactive gaming app with digital currency betting on games. And in November they will release Bookie, the world's first on-chain sports betting exchange.
Holders of PPY will earn dividends from commissions and fees in whatever crypto was used by the people gambling on their platforms. Yes, hodlers will earn dividends in multiple cryptos. This is the only project that I know of that does this.
They will also be a blockchain that game developers can use to monetise their games.
Iconomi is a managed portfolios platform. They have a dividends buyback program. Profits will come from fees earned from people buying into their INDEX fund (ICNX). ICNX is will be released on August 1st to the public and is currently available to ICO participants. ICN also gains value from the dividends buyback through profits realised by INCP. INCP is a managed fund by the Iconomi team that invest in cryptos. They have already realised huge profits that have been returned to ICN hodlers through the dividends buybacks. ICN's future revenue will also come from fees associated with managed funds portfolios platform that is currently being developed.
Both of these projects have seen their values skyrocket because they have clear business plans that are coming to fruition.
I would argue that they are still way undervalued.
But you can't get either on the Bittrex or Poloniex exchanges.
Why?
It is not completely clear why they are not listed, but one reason might be because they would be considered securities and those two exchanges don't want to risk legal ramifications by offering trading in securities. And why might they be considered securities? Because they might actually make people money rather than the hope of increased value because of exuberance or some future way of earning. They might actually make real money.
If so, it is ironic that some of the best business projects in crypto can't be offered on the best exchanges because they are the best projects.
A caveat is that I am assuming this is why they're not listed. But I don't see any other reason why they would not be.
What I would like to point out is that trading on Bittrex or Polo might be where you find projects that have hype but you have to look further afield to find value.

You can currently trade PPY on Livecoin, Cryptodoa and Open ledger (soon? It's listed but not trading yet)
You can trade ICN on Kraken, Liqui, Livecoin and a few others.
very nice infos , thx!
I think they are not trading there, because these coins are too young. But thats a good way to profit, hold on to them till they get bigger and issued on Poloniex and / or Bittrex. Demand will rise and so will the price!
But Bittrex in particular is often listing way younger coins. Poloniex has been trying to deal with an explosion of new users so maybe they're just swamped.
iconomi is mayby the best investment anyone could have made i wish i would have got it for under 1 dollar
I bought it at .50 and sold half at 1.50 kinda wishing I kept it but I used the money for Bitshares which went up 5x since I purchased it
I think it's great I don't know if you noticed but there have been new exchanges and everyICO's to make exchanges for the token market. I love cryptocurrency it's really a free market world and it's only the begin. Great post
