  • I think a a lot of people are under the misapprehension that Tether is supposed to behave like other cryptos, but it's not. The name itself is testimony to the fact hat the purpose of this currency is to hold the price of other cryptos to a particular USD value - this is immensely useful when you have hit an ATH on a crypto and expect consolidation or retreat from that point thereon. When you sell to Tether, you effectively sell out at the USD prices at that time so that you can use the USDT to purchase at lower rates. This is not a crypto for investment but something to help you book profits in other cryptos and hence it is supposed to be static or with minimal fluctuation.
