I think a lot of people assume that Ethereum will be the future. At first glance it's great, a platform that simplifies the process of launching your own decentralized token. There is already great adoption, so of course, it will be successful.
But! What if it wasn't?
To start with, there are a few major issues with the Ethereum network.
- The transaction speed is way to slow. Without getting technical, this is an issue. In the past few days we have seen some adorable kitties essentially carry out a DDOS attack on the Ethereum network. If kitties can bog it down, what happens if we get Crypto puppies on the Ethereum Network?
- It's functioning on arguably outdated technology. PoS - favors early entrants and big spenders. Get in early at a low price, or borrow daddy's pocketbook and buy a lot and all of a sudden you have more power in the network. This doesn't sound decentralized, does it?
Enter Stellar "The Contender" Lumens (crowd cheers wildly)
Forked from the Ripple network, by the Ripple Founder himself, Jed McCaleb. Stellar Lumens function on the Stellar Consensus Protocol. This protocol allows exponentially more transactions per second when compared to Ethereum, at a fee that is essentially zero. What's more, it's open source, so developers can build upon the SCP (without having to learn a brand new language cough solidity cough).
Better tech, lower fees, faster transactions... hmmm
But wait! It get's better (I know, kind of unbelievable)
Firstly, Stellar has partnered with IBM and is processing many of their cross-border transactions. This is just the beginning. As more partnerships are announced, and more retailers begin to use Lumens to handle their transaction, this currency is going to explode.
WHAT?! You want more incentive to go and check it out? Fine. Enter Mobius, built on the Stellar Consensus Protocol. You can literally hear angels sing if you say their name enough.
Mobius is in their pre-ICO and is about to change EVERYTHING. Mobius is Stripe in the world of blockchains. Stripe came along and created API's that allowed merchants to easily accept all payments. Mobius is doing the same thing. By simplifying the process needed to connect to every blockchain, Mobius is singlehandedly opening the whole space to the non-blockchain world. This is HUGE!
What's more, not only have they simplified that, they have created a growing dApp (decentralized app) store - aka Apple app store, without the Apple fees. And yes, this is all pre-launch - almost mind-boggling to find an ICO that actually has something built.
I bring all of this up because I want you to broaden your vision, and Mobius and Stellar are a great place to start. Ethereum and Bitcoin are yesterday's trend. What's next?
This is not investment advice. Do your own research. But I am investing in both.

I've heard good things about Stellar and have looked at that one. I will check out Mobius. Do you like ripple? Could you tell me any info you know about ripple? I would appreciate it.
I like ripple. I originally put more money in ripple than stellar, and I think both are worth holding. However; I like stellar more long term. Ripple is centralized and not open source code like stellar. This means people can build on the Stellar Consensus Protocol giving it another use case.
awesome article! :D
Hey thanks, I appreciate it. I'm trying to get more involved with the community here. Wondering if people like ICO reviews and the like?
Yes, of course!
