Yes, not only are there more and more of them, they are getting to be extremely clever. I fear that I may wake up groggy (i.e. not yet alert) one day and accidentally do the wrong thing when one of these scam messages comes up on my phone or my computer.
I think it might be helpful to set up a website, perhaps running off the STEEM block chain, where the members can upload screenshots and messages from the scammers, so that we can all have an improved opportunity to get better educated about the nature of the scams and what these messages and screenshots tend to look like.
My alertness has increased as a result of paying attention to the patterns of text communication and images in the scammers’ messages and by checking the page source code when that is available. So those of us who are gaining this kind of alertness because we are somewhat ‘geeky’ could help the whole community by compiling a database about details of the scams, so that others can learn by examining items on the database.
