The Canadian government has delayed its regulations for cryptocurrencies and blockchain, and has stated that these will be published in 2019. After publication in the Canada Gazette, consumers will have 12 months to become compliant to the new rules.

The government had proposed a draft of strict rules back in June, and some enthusiasts are relieved that the government has reconsidered its position.
However, others see it as contributing to the general uncertainty regarding the new technologies.
