Post-Fork Portfolio Update

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Now that the fork has happened and some of the dust has settled I realigned some of my investments. While I am still holding 12 different investments, I've cut some out since my previous portfolio update to be replaced by other crytpocurrencies.

Increased my XEM/NEM Holding

This is something that I'm constantly working on, as I want to build a harvesting node and  a run a fully functioning NIS server. XEM/NEM is an amazing project with great developers and a great community, which I talk a bit about in my previous portfolio update (https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@linuxguy/portfolio-holdings-what-i-ve-invested-in-and-why). We also have the launch of catapult soon, so even though I might be holding NEM long, and am almost ready to build a harvesting node it is a great investment regardless of whether or not you want to build a XEM/NEM harvesting node.

Cut out my BTC holdings

The primary reason why I was holding onto my BTC was to get BCH and be able to trade it on bittrex before transactions were enabled. With it's massive increased price, it was a good time to buy some altcoins, so I temporarily cut out BTC until I get back from my vacation at the end of August.

Increased ETH Holdings

From doing smart contract development, I've been getting some of my payments in ETH which has naturally increased by ETH holdings without having to purchase anymore ETH.

Cut out ARDR

I was primarily holding ARDR for some short term trading and short term profits, and have swapped in ARK for both day trading, and medium-longterm holding which has been extremely profitable as I was able to buy it at $0.70 CAD with a current price of $1.12 CAD

Increased ANS/NEO Holdings

With NEO almost over taking XMR for #10, and major development  and roadmap updates, it's no surprise it's price has been skyrocketing. With a major corporate and government partnerships in China, along with some impressive technology I decided it would be wise to increase my ANS/NEO holdings.

Increased HEAT holdings

Because I run a proof stake HEAT node, I'm always increasing my HEAT holdings either by lottery and forging payouts, or by buying small amounts here and there. I  performed a large upgrade on my heat supply, increasing my holdings by a solid amount.

Sold my BLOCK Holdings

I sold my BLOCK holdings at a good profit when it was falling in price a few days ago. This was not a permanent move, and was due to a conditional order trade I had on Bittrex. I then used those funds to allocate into ARK to do some day trading. After I'm done with my ARK trading I'll take out a portion of my ARK holdings to put back into BLOCK.

Sold my LTC holdings

The only reason I was holding onto LTC at the time was because I suspected it's price would increase in value as it would be used to transfer funds from exchanges to bittrex in order to enable purchasing/selling of BCH and BTC before transactions were enabled.

Sold my XMR holdings

I sold all my XMR holdings as I've established an XMR mining rig with some old servers I have which mines be about 1XMR a month.

Sold half my SYS

I had the opportunity to sell half of my SYS holdings on a profit, so I did just that and reallocated funds to different altcoins. I still have half my holdings which I have no plans on liquidating.

Bought QRL

QRL has always been a coin and technology I've been interested in, and had some additional funds left, so I decided it would be a good idea to buy some up. QRL will be a long term holding of mine.

Bought DGB

I saw some massive price action on DGB going on in Bittrex a few days ago so bought several hundred dollars worth, which I've been slowly liquidating over time at a profit so I don't expect to have this in my portfolio for much longer.

Decided to hold onto my LBC

I've been mining LBC for about a month now, but have always been selling it every time I acquire 10 LBC. However with the release of their open beta, I decided it would be a good time to start holding onto all the LBC I mine, so expect to see this holding grow in size.
