Stellar Is Up 20% After Stripe Product Manger States They Might Add Support For The Currency
Stellar has seen fantastic growth over the past year and this continues to be so after it traded near 58 cents today. This might be due to the news released by the Stripe product manager who stated "We may add support for Stellar (to which we provided seed funding) if substantive use continues to grow."
Stripe is a company that provides a commerce infrastructure for developers.
This is very good news for Stellar as Stripe has also decided to drop their Bitcoin support due to Bitcoin's lack of viability as a practical currency due to it's blocksize limits and growing transaction costs. Stripe's Tom Karlo has said the following;
**"We’ve seen the desire from our customers to accept Bitcoin decrease. And of the businesses that are accepting Bitcoin on Stripe, we’ve seen their revenues from Bitcoin decline substantially. Empirically, there are fewer and fewer use cases for which accepting or paying with Bitcoin makes sense.
Therefore, starting today, we are winding down support for Bitcoin payments. Over the next three months we will work with affected Stripe users to ensure a smooth transition before we stop processing Bitcoin transactions on April 23, 2018."**
