Good for you, I imagine I might have been driven by FUD to close my position on ETH if I were invested at the time I heard this. I think the price went down about $20, down to around $280, if I recall correctly, and that might have scared me. But I think you are correct that any sell last night would have been panic selling.
I really expect ETH to continue growing and holding a big part of the market share, but I would say that this event does point out why Lisk could be a better project, in the long run. I say that because of the seperate channels that Lisk uses, which differs from Ethereum's protocol.
Do you hold any Lisk? What do you think of Lisk? I wonder whether people did buy Lisk following this Parity issue, because Lisk did kill it today. Thoughts?
I pretty much agree with you. Ethereum is a solid project and hacks and other problems like this current issue I think do degrade confidence, but it sure has not drawn as much drama as Bitcoin hard forks!
Wish I had more time to watch more of your videos, I like your style!
One issue is that this is the second major Parity hack in 3 months.
Secondly, while this incident has nothing to do with the actual ETH chain, it's quite damaging to the overall ecosystem as the entire notion of "code is law" is now put into question.
If even one of the founders of ETH, Gavin Wood, can't code a secure a smart contract, what hope is there for all the upcoming developers?
A hard fork even if a split occurs would be as you stated "for the people". Not doing so can and will destroy the lives of many parity users. As a community, it is the only fair course to take.
I've been thinking for a few days now to ask you for a video on how Eth and Ethereum have value as an investment, for the project behind the coin. I mean like, what are the next updates, what's the vision, and so on, explained in a simple way so everybody can understand. I'd love a video like that for myself and specially to share with non crypto friends. =D
Well...this was a Parity issue, which is definitely a concern but not to the point of ETH massive devaluation. Putting the drama aside ... Ethereum is a solid project . We should not forget that Bitcoin comes first but Ethereum still holds it's second position and is the strong candidate to the top position, although Ripple and Dash is getting closer and does have the potential to be the top of the list as well. Do love the economics ups and downs of the digital currencies.
One of those, I can't wait for EOS to come out moments ....
upvoted and following you.
Thanks buddy67. Appreciate it!

Hah - your tail off music was unexpected.
... And AWESOME!
Yodl (hodl) ;) That's my interpretation :D

If anything, this would reflect bad on Parity now that I think about it.. I personally wont touch that wallet.

EXACTLY! Parity is screwed...
This is not the first time ETH wallets got hacked... Unfortunate for Etherum but I think it can overcome these issues...
