How I Was Bitcoin Scammed Out of $13,000 -- Sharing My Story to Help Others

Hi, everyone! The following post was published several months ago, mainly in an attempt to prevent others from being scammed. Fortunately, the website has since been taken down.

Note: I still believe cryptocurrencies are the future. However, when we blindly put our trust in others, bad things can happen. Learn from my experience, and protect your future by questioning everything.

It feels different than I thought it would — being scammed. Yes, that’s right. Yours truly was too naive and lost (approximately) $13,000 through a company called ADAS Fortress.

Did I suspect there might be a risk? Oh hell yes. But, after researching the company for two months and sending (what I thought was) ridiculous amounts of questions to the affiliate encouraging me to sign up, I figured it was worth it.

Long story short, our plans have changed. In the video below, I go into more detail explaining exactly what happened, as well as how I (and my partner, Aaron) are forgiving and moving on.

Watch the video below:

What now?

Believe it or not, I find the change of plans to be somewhat exciting. Because our financial situation has drastically changed, we will not be traveling the United States for the next 4-5 months. Rather, we are going to finish renovating our 1995 Challenger Camper and move to Colorado. There, Aaron will gain employment in the cannabis industry (aspiring master grower, woot!) and I will either work as a vegan chef or cannabis chef — TBD.

Yesterday was the day it hit hard. We spent most of it decompressing and just accepting the reality. Aaron and I stayed up until midnight talking, working through the emotions and figuring out a solid game plan from a place of clarity and acceptance. Most importantly, we let go of regret and hostility toward those involved with ADAS Fortress.

I don’t know what, exactly, the future holds. All I know is that sometimes, my own ambitions get me a little off track. And, then I am “de-railed” back onto the “right” path. Moving to Colorado, forming connections, and moving on with our plans feels right.

Most importantly… I am SUPER excited to be able to study at University this fall (fingers crossed). As I mentioned in the video above, I feel called to obtain my B.S. in psychology. However, the journey won’t end there. I believe there is HUGE potential for psychedelics to help people process and, most importantly, overcome traumas in life. As a deeply spiritual and intuitive person, I feel I can be of value in this line of work.

It is pertinent to note that us getting back on our feet wouldn't have been possible without my parents. They are the most selfless, kind and amazing people I have ever met, and I feel SO blessed that they are in our lives.

Anyhoo, that is it for now. My ultimate goal with sharing this news/article is to be authentic. Rarely is life always rainbow farts and unicorns (yes, I wrote that). Fortunately, the tough times reveal who your true friends and family are, as well as push you to become a better person.

Note: ADAS Fortress has been reported to the FTC and an official complain has been lodged. It’s in their hands, now!

Remember: we may not be able to control what happens to us in life, but we can control how we respond (versus react).

Until next time, lovelies.
