It's about time somebody came in and provided decent competition to Tether. But still, I wonder what's in it for them and how are they going to make money from all their time and effort built creating a stable coin? Also if it's linked to the traditional banking system won't it be somewhat easy to stop?
Agreed that we need a "certifiable" honest Tether. And these ARE the guys to do it, if they benefit from the Bit Shares experience. (By the Way is it Block One doing it?)They have been experimenting with creating all kinds of currencies and well, uh, derivatives of all kinds at the BitShares exchange (BTS) commodities, gold, silver, rare earth metals and I don't even know what...
But anyway they've already put in the time and effort. So they must pretty much have a template that they can just tweak each time they create a new coin or token.
Regarding the traditional banking system, if anyone knows how money works it would be those who have mastered BTS. I think they intend to out-compete the Banksters with the shield of honesty and rectitude and the bludgeon of open sourcing, immutability and transparency.

And we all must find our niche in this brave new world, including yours truly and you too truly. Probably you should be in the witness, arbitration or diplomatic corps. Block producer is too much on the technical side, very demanding 24/7/365, noisy machinery - just like well, block producers, miners.
But perhaps many, many new positions don't even have titles yet. Opportunities will come up and with open sourcing the right person will see it and fill the role.
Don't mind the FUD. There will be naysayers as well as YAY sayers.

Scatter is not a wallet sir, it is a way to interact with apps/sites including wallets. You need wallet functionality for staking and unstaking.

Thanks bro, loving your EOS input! First time i see my tokens appearing, feels good :-) I see in that post of yours you speak about account registration, can we chose our own account name already? Any more info on the why you would register multiple accounts in this initial phase already?

Yes, we can now create our own account names and even bid for premium names :-). I already have a few standard account names and am bidding on a few 'vanity' names. You can go to https://toolkit.genereos.io/tools (scatter integration required) to create new accounts and bid.

It sounds like you do not have the genereos network attached to your private key within your identity. A new version of Scatter was released that fixes this, update scatter and try again sir.

The TrueCoin is great as it gets closer to the traditional market concept of money market funds that intens to be “parking space” for money that wants to remain in the market with limited risk. This could entice more larger investors to start participating with improved transparency. My only concern is how scalibility could be seen as we have seen issues on the ETH network when it becomes active.
