The situation with SWIFT very much reminds me of Blockbuster when Netflix launched.
Another great show Chris. Does seem a bit pointless for Coinbase to have a StableCoin when you can trade straight to USD!!! Would love to see a comparison between Blockstack and Elastos!! Just tested the Blockstack browser and only app that seems to work is Dappy. But BS does potentially look like a great project. Haha, Swift is so screwed!!

I think the proliferation of these new stablecoins despite their centralized nature is positive as it is taking market share away from Tether which currently holds a Top 10 spot in general market cap. So transparency would improve in the market which is net positive. The long term benefit of using these is that it will increase adoption as merchants and organizations see the efficiencies in using them for transfers and payments which result in cheaper and faster settlements as long as scaling improves on some of the blockchains.
Swift will definitely lose in the long run if they don't catch up. Few days ago I did a fiat transfer with swift, took 4 days... What's that?
Of course no startups would like to work with swift because it is too slow and also probably expensive. The challenge in that case is to integrate cryptopayments into the existing book keeping solutions and having (or not!) the proper tax regulations in place. Once that's fixed I don't see why not to accept cryptos as the main payment system since it's pretty easy to integrate.
Banning Iran from it? I love those kind of actions because it just adds powder to the fire. Of course they will look for alternatives which will bypass the ban and when other countries see that they will probably start going that way. Many countries don't like the US trying to play the police of the world. The more they try to ban the better it will get!

Can the 'Hedge Fund Manager' really accept Bitcoin? How would it be declared in the real state records?! In Portugal that would not be possible because the state concludes about amount of taxes to pay yearly based on the fiat total amount of the purchase and fiat value evaluation of the property done by the tax office . Even if he wants to receive the payment in chocolate or gold that would not be possible to be done up here .. But I guess that's bait news and 'we' defenders of BTC really need those ground breaking news... :D
In almost every episode I learn something fascinating and new about the blockchain / crypto space. I didn't know about BlockStack - the way they designed it makes so much sense and could become a "best practice" model for blockchain design, allowing for easier development of dapps. It's always great to hear about viable stable coins entering the market as well. What's your opinion of the gold-backed stable coin called the Quint, which I believe is Bitshares based?
I wasn't able to find the Quint on the BitShares network just now and I not heard of it before.
So, they remove Iran. Iran switches to some type of crypto. Supporting an evil bad guy gets added to drugs to prove "The Bitcoin" is only for criminals. Got it.
My Android Coinbase app does not list Circle Dollar (USDC), yet. I do not have a Premium account, though.
While Coinbase allows trades directly into USD, USDC may prove to be a better method of transferring value from Coinbase to other exchanges, assuming that the transaction fees and time are less than BTC or LTC. Its stability will limit arbitrage opportunity costs that may occur during the transfer between exchanges. You might use this as the basis for one of your experiments. I'd love to see the time and fee cost of a transfer from Coinbase to Binance (and back again). Keep up the great work.
