After two intense days, the Bitcoin & Blockchain conference in the city of Miami ended. Dozens of projects to invest went on the stage, from smart glasses, trading platforms, disruptive technology for education to complex health systems.
All projects seem interesting and promise to revolutionize the way many of our everyday things are done, more efficiently and quickly. The truth is that this is not enough for the project to be successful.
Below I will detail in 5 points the aspects that I consider most important when evaluating the investment in an ICO. I will not recommend any in particular, but rather I will talk in general that you should take into account.
Who is behind the project? Nowadays, with the advance of social networks, it is easy to investigate at least if the people that make up the ICO are real and what trajectory they have. It is a basic point that few investors take the trouble to do so.
What solution does the project offer? If you can not answer this question, it is best to find another project that has the answer. If the ICO does not offer to solve any problem in an innovative way, it probably will not survive for long.
Is there any benefit to invest early? If the ICO does not offer an interesting discount for the advance purchase of its Token, it is convenient to wait for the digital currency to be traded in an Exchange.
Will the project be presented at a conference? In recent months Bitcoin & Blockchain conferences are held in different parts of the world, giving the opportunity to new projects to show. If the project is large, it will be in a conference.
Do not invest all the money in a single project. As promising as ICO may seem, do not put all your money there. At least it diversifies by 5 to minimize the risk.
It is important to be clear that investments in ICOs are high risk, since when dealing with new projects, it is betting in advance and we do not know for sure what their future may be.
The positive thing is that if the project is successful you can multiply the money many times. Will those who have invested some years ago in the ICO of Ethereum be happy? I would be.
