The Gemini Exchange twin-currency exchange will begin offering digital currency trading outside normal order books from April 12 at 9:30 am EDT, according to a press release issued on April 9.

Investors wishing to trade in the Gemini trading market will be able to buy and sell large amounts of digital currency. Gemini will have a minimum trading volume of 10 BTC and 100 ETH, with the release of trading information 10 minutes after the transaction is executed to prevent price and market volatility.

The Gemini publication explains how a customer has placed a collective order that specifies: (i) the purchase or sale, (ii) the quantity, (iii) the minimum required amount of packing, (iv) the price limit ("interest statement"), The market will only see "quantity, minimum quantity and anticipation price." Once "market making" is determined that is proportional to the interest index, the collective order will be executed.

Gemini has also been involved in bringing traditional market systems to digital currency. In December of last year, the Chicago Options Exchange (CBOE) entered into a partnership with Gemini to launch Futures contracts.
