Coin disasters, SCAM or Fail stories - share the Knowledge. +contest: 10 STEEM for the most upvoted comment.

Well, well... I have been watching the crypto markets for some time and so far it looks pretty much as a no-loser game to me. One could have invested almost in any coin which is in my watch list on Blockfolio app (an awesome monitoring app by the way) and I guess it's not because I am too smart about picking up interesting ones but just because of the whole market exponential growth. During the last couple of months even coins which seemed my limited knowledge to be either joke oriented or coins with no innovation attached showed amazing performance as well.

So what I want to research in this post and contest is the possible sad sides of the story. If there are any at all...

The only big market drops I have seen occurred to coins when they experienced some troubles. Those drops were fast and furious but after some short period of time the growth continued and most of the time even on a faster track.

Here are couple of stories of short set backs which I observed:

  1. Delisting of Voxels from Poloniex led to sharp fall which then led to a fast recovery phase.

  2. BTC fall in Winter when Chinese Exchanges froze withdrawals.

  3. Ethereum after DAO hack.

  4. Short term BTC fall after ETF proposal rejection in March.

  5. Some interesting 25-35% fall of the whole crypto market which occurred around two weeks ago which I don't know the cause of. From what I have read the cause could be just trading and speculations themselves. Short positions and some stop-limit order sequences.

All of the mentioned above again were short term falls which could scare at the time when they happened but when one views the whole year (or even 3 months) picture it looks more than amazing in comparison to any assets in the history.

The contest:

  1. You are welcome to share your knowledge on topic. Do you know any stories of sharp market falls and what caused them? Or maybe you are aware of an asset which ceased to exist at all stating that the project failed or whatever? I have not encountered such a case so far. 2) The comment with the most upvotes will win 10 STEEM sent from this account as a little trophee. 4) Contest ends Friday midnight U.S. Pacific Time Zone.

Thanks for reading and see you soon.

Thanks for starting this thread. Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Blockchain is the fututure but how are we gonna kill all those scamy cryptos out there? Besides coinmarketcap.com there is: https://www.coincheckup.com I'm really happy with this site that gives complete coin analysis for every single crypto. Check for example: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Steem#analysis To watch Steem Investment research report.

Thanks for the links, gonna check it out.
