A very well written article. Thank you. I am still thinking, do I have to buy Bitcoin, or can I not just keep it in Steem. What's better?

You can keep it in Steem, which we all hope will go up over time. It is usually a good idea to diversify a bit, if you have a lot of Steem all of a sudden, just as it is a good idea to diversify a portfolio in other markets. Bitcoin might go down until August (and maybe throughout August as well) but no one really knows.
The best you can do, is read up on "coins", and just ask what others think of a specific CryptoCurrency.
Bitcoin is good because it is the most popular. Steem is good because it has a specific use-case (i.e. Steemit). Generally having good tech is maybe not enough on its own, but it definitely helps a lot, when it comes to mass-adoption.
At the end of the day, ask around you. See what others think, especially those who understand the tech and the financial aspect as well. Browse the CryptoCurrency tag here on Steemit or check places like Reddits CryptoCurrency subreddit for inspiration.
Thank you for this informative response. What's your thoughts on EOS? I just reesteemed a very interesting article on it, and I am wanting to know more.
EOS has great potential, I think. It seems to have good tech and a lot of demand, so in my personal opinion it could go big next summer, when the ICO ends. However, please don't take investment advice from me, since I am no financial expert. For specific coins ask those who know a lot about the coins and who knows a lot about investments.
