It was the words of Russell Crow who played Maximus in the movie Gladiator, which came to mind today as I thought about how so many people’s lives will be changed this year. Addressing his men ready for battle he declares;
Three weeks from now I will be harvesting my crops. Imagine where you will be, and it will be so. Hold the line. Stay with me. If you find yourself alone, riding in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled; for you are in Elysium, and you're already dead, Brothers, what we do in life, echoes in eternity.
I have thought about those words several times in the last few days, and actions at times that make one wonder if they are on course with what might be expected of them. Where is our focus, is it all about greed, what’s in it for me, life isn’t fair so I’m going to get my share? These thoughts seem to be normal in a society that is similar to the one we live in today. Corruption, deceitfulness, and scams seem to be the order of the day, not only within governments, but in daily business and just about everywhere. So the question comes to us all, if we knew that our actions would echo through the eternities, would we act any different? Would we be more compassionate, understanding, charitable, kind, loving, or even truthful?
So by now everyone’s wondering how all this applies to Crypto, it applies only in the essence that as Crypto holders become more and more wealthy, we would hope there would be a self check of one’s morals and core values. Whether we have a belief in a Supreme bring or not, just basic humanity values supports the inclination not to take advantage of each other, and yet there is so much of that going on in the world today. Thinking that is “No Big Deal” to take from those who have put time, effort and funds into something and someone else thinking they have the right tio it is beyond my comprehension. That said it is the duty of us all to learn the skills necessary to protect those assets we will receive through crypto, there is plenty of “How To” information out there, take the time to learn before it becomes too late.
