Well, the thing is, ICOs are not only meant for new coins, in the sense of currency. Many of them are inherent to different business models. You could even loosely compare the new ICOs to either Equity or Bonds, since they're directly connected to companies. Examples of those are: Suncontract ICO, DAO Casino ICO and Blocktix ICO. Take a look at some of the ICOs listed out there to get a feeling of how business-based ICOs currently are. Hopefully you'll see that they are no longer meant to be only a means of transacting. In some cases you even get dividends from tokens.
