Seems like promising news on the Bitcoin / SegWit2x front - hopefully the 80% will be reached.

I can't see it being good for crypto's as a whole if Bitcoin splits?

    Exactly, it's not really in any one's interests to destroy Bitcoin (predatory specs aside) ... Segwit2x is a compromise and we should reach the necessary consensus
